The College considers extension work as the third dimension s of instruction and regards it as important as the other two dimensions viz., teaching-learning and research. This is due to the consideration that extension activities are beneficial for inculcating a sense of dedication to social upliftment and accountability among students. The college initiates extension education with its own fund. These activities are carried out through the Extension Education Cell and other cells.
Types of Extension work
Academic Extension Activities
The college organizes Departmental Lectures, Seminars, workshops, etc. with the involvement of existing teachers, librarian and invited experts, so that interdisciplinary knowledge can be transmitted among the teachers and the students.
Extension through Awareness
The college is organizing some awareness programme on different areas like primary health, drug abuse, AIDS, blood donation, etc. within and outside the college campus.
National Service Scheme (NSS)
The NSS is a voluntary organization of the Student under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports established in 1989 to inculcate social consciousness and sense of responsibility, discipline and dignity of labour among the youth. The college unit of the NSS is vibrant with activities and organizing a number of health education programmes each year under the guidance of the Project Officer.
National Cadet Corps (NCC)
The NCC is a National organization which helps in inculcating the spirit of courage, confidence, self-reliance, self-service, patriotism, faith in oneself, power of thinking and adjustment which are essential to make the youth disciplined and dutiful. The College NCC unit is attached to the 50 Assam Air Sqr. (Fly) NCC.
